5 Israelis lightly to moderately injured in traffic accident in Sinai

Five Israelis were lightly to moderately injured in a traffic accident in Egypt on Thursday, according to medics.

The incident occurred in Taba in the Sinai Peninsula, near the border with Israel, the United Hatzalah ambulance organization said in a statement.

The incident involved two local shuttle vehicles colliding, according to United Hatzalah volunteer medic Elhanan Marciano, who was on vacation himself and took part in treating the Israelis at the scene.

“I gave them initial medical aid with the help of Egyptian ambulance teams, and the wounded are being evacuated toward Israel,” Marciano said.

The Foreign Ministry said it was aware of the accident, noting the injured were from the same family.
