A man was shot and wounded in broad daylight on a street in Tel Aviv on Sunday afternoon.
Police said they arrested a suspect in the shooting less than half an hour later, and that they do not believe the incident is terror-related.
First responders said that the victim, 63, was brought to the Ichilov Hospital in the city in moderate condition with a gunshot wound.
Police said that they opened an investigation into the incident and sent officers to the scene of the crime on Yehuda Halevi Street in Tel Aviv to gather evidence and question eyewitnesses.
The Ynet news site reported, without citing a source, that the victim of the shooting was an attorney who had previously served time in prison for defrauding his clients.
A crime wave is currently gripping Israel, with shooting incidents occurring almost daily, most often among members of Arab communities.

Earlier Sunday, a man was arrested on suspicion of murdering his father in Hadera and attempting to kill his mother. According to Haaretz, it was the 199th homicide so far this year, one of Israel’s bloodiest on record.
A tally by the Abraham Initiatives says that 157 of those killed so far this year have been part of the Arab community — more than double the figure on the same date last year.
