Russia and China vetoed Wednesday night a UN Security Council proposal presented by the U.S., which condemned Hamas, called for the immediate release of Israeli hostages and recognized Israel’s right to self-defense against terror.
Malta, Japan, Ghana, Gabon, France, Ecuador, Albania, the U.S., England and Switzerland voted in favor; Russia, the United Arab Emirates and China voted against; while Mozambique and Brazil abstained. (Itamar Eichner)
